Prelude

The prelude was written long before I even had any idea of where I was going with the story. I just wrote that little blip shortly after my 18th birthday, when I thought I had depersonalization disorder, and so I just kind of jotted that down as the beginning of a story, projecting what I was feeling at the time onto the main character. The Sporting Life: Epilogue

My name is Jonathan Lyudoed, pronounced Loo-Doy-Ed, and I am forty years old. It has been three months since I enlisted the help of my lawyer, Mr. Frost, in freeing my Friend from prison. Mr. Frost is rather good at brushing incidents and evidence under the carpet, as I have learned during my time with him. I did, however, place a condition onto the release. Should my Friend ever kill again, I will have Mr. Frost place him back in prison, for good this time.

One of my friends whispers something, so I lean in closer, trying to listen to her.

"What? No! Not Jack! He's my boyfriend! I'm such a good girlfriend, I would never! Plus, he's a cop!" I say before beginning to laugh hysterically.

The Sporting Life: Act 25

My name is Jonathan Lyudoed, pronounced Loo-Doy-Ed, although I prefer to simply be called Jack. I am twenty-two years old. I had gone to bed a bit earlier than usual last night, at 9:30 P.M., in preparation for the day. My alarm clock blares at 7:00 A.M., although I do not need it, as I always awaken at the predetermined time every morning without fail. The sound is a bit soothing to me, I suppose. It reminds me of a happier time.

I believe in taking care of myself, especially on a day such as this. I partake in a balanced diet, consisting only of the highest quality meat, of my own choosing of course, and a rigorous exercise routine to keep

I decide there are eighty-three shapes that look like my face, along with eighteen shapes that resemble attractive women, and fifty-two extra large bricks per wall. In my boredom in the two months since I was imprisoned, I have been in and out of solitary confinement due to the fact that I do not play well with the other prisoners. I am still awaiting trial, but I have no doubt they will find me guilty. I do not think there will be any gods to rescue me, this time. As if on cue, a guard approaches my cell and tells me that I have a visitor. I casually glance to the side, and am overjoyed to see my best friend Jack entering the cell. I make ro

I implore you to reconsider. You are correct in your assumption that I will attempt to dissuade you, because your course of action is pure insanity. It's true, you have partaken in unsavory deeds in the past, but you can change. We're good men now, Jack. We're married men, with families. My wife has a child on the way. A boy.
